Terms of Service

Last updated: 19 October 2026

These terms govern your use of CICaDo, the hosted continuous integration and delivery service at app.cicado.dev, and this website ("the Service"). "We", "us" and "CICaDo" mean the operator of the Service. "You" means the person or the organisation that person represents. By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these terms.

1. The Service

CICaDo runs the workflows you define in your repositories on runners we host, or on runners you connect, and reports the results to the source host, chat and other tools you connect. Features and limits depend on your plan, described on the pricing page.

During the private beta, access is by invitation. Features marked beta or preview are provided as they are, may change or be removed without notice, and may be unavailable at times.

2. Accounts

  • You sign in through a supported identity provider (GitHub during the beta). You must be at least 18 years old and able to agree to these terms.
  • You are responsible for activity in your organisation, for who you give access to, and for keeping the account you sign in with secure.
  • Tell us promptly at support@cicadoci.com if you believe your account has been compromised.

3. Your content

Your code, workflow files, logs, artifacts and secrets ("Your Content") remain yours. You give us permission to store, copy and process Your Content only as needed to provide the Service to you, including running your jobs and keeping logs and artifacts for your plan's retention period. We do not use Your Content to train machine learning models and do not sell it.

You are responsible for having the rights to Your Content and for what your workflows do.

We may use aggregated, de-identified usage data (such as build counts and durations) to run, secure and improve the Service. It never identifies you or contains Your Content. If you send us feedback or suggestions, we may use them without any obligation to you.

4. Acceptable use

You must not use the Service, or hosted runners in particular, to:

  • mine cryptocurrency, or run workloads unrelated to building, testing or deploying software;
  • attack, scan or disrupt any system or network, including ours, without authorisation;
  • send spam, host or distribute malware, or store illegal content;
  • get around plan limits, access controls or the isolation between customers;
  • infringe anyone's copyright or other rights, or break any law.

We may stop jobs, limit or suspend accounts that break these rules or put the Service or other customers at risk. Where we can, we tell you first and give you a chance to fix the problem.

5. Plans, fees and taxes

  • Paid plans are billed monthly in advance through our payment processor, Stripe. Usage above your plan's allowance (such as extra hosted minutes) is billed in arrears at the end of each month.
  • Prices are in US dollars and exclude taxes. We add sales tax, VAT or similar taxes where the law requires.
  • We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice by email. A change applies from your next billing period after the notice.
  • If a payment is more than 10 days overdue after we have told you, we may move your organisation to the Free plan or suspend paid features until it is paid.

6. Cancellation and termination

You can cancel a paid plan at any time from your organisation's billing page; it stays active until the end of the paid period. Refunds are described in our Refunds and cancellation policy. You can delete your organisation at any time. We may end these terms if you seriously or repeatedly break them. After an organisation is deleted we delete its data as described in our Privacy Policy.

7. Third-party services

The Service works with source hosts, chat tools, cloud providers and other services you connect. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms. We are not responsible for them.

8. Availability and changes

We work to keep the Service available and secure but do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free, unless a separate written agreement says otherwise. We may change or remove features; if a change takes away a significant paid feature, we will give reasonable notice.

9. Disclaimer

Except as stated in these terms, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows.

10. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, neither party is liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost profits, revenue or data. Our total liability for all claims relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and US$100. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

11. Indemnity

You will defend and indemnify us against third-party claims arising from Your Content or your breach of section 4.

12. Copyright complaints

If you believe content processed by the Service infringes your copyright, email support@cicadoci.com with "Copyright complaint" in the subject, identifying the work, the content and how to reach you. We remove content where appropriate and close the accounts of repeat infringers.

13. Export controls and sanctions

You must comply with export control and sanctions laws that apply to you and to the Service. You may not use the Service if you are located in, or are a resident of, a country or region under comprehensive US sanctions, or are named on a US government list of restricted parties.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We will post the new version here and, for material changes, email organisation owners at least 30 days before they take effect. Continuing to use the Service after that means you accept the new terms.

15. General

These terms, and any order or plan you sign up for, are the whole agreement between us about the Service. If a part of them cannot be enforced, the rest still applies. Not enforcing a right is not giving it up. You may not transfer these terms without our consent; we may transfer them as part of a merger or sale of the business. Neither party is responsible for delays caused by events outside its reasonable control.
